Thetford Heritage Trust seeks trustees to help shape the town’s future

A roadside welcome sign for Thetford stands on a small stone base at a residential junction. The sign features a decorative painted panel of a crowned historical figure wearing a red cloak and holding a staff or sword, positioned beneath a white signboard with bold lettering reading “THETFORD”. Behind the sign are rows of red-brick houses with tiled roofs, neatly trimmed hedges, and a quiet street curving away to the right. A tall, leafless tree covered in ivy stands to the left of the sign, alongside a modern streetlamp. The scene is brightly lit by clear sunshine under a blue sky, giving a crisp, calm suburban feel to the entrance of the town.

The newly formed Thetford Heritage Trust is seeking trustees to join its board as it embarks on an ambitious programme of work to unlock Thetford’s heritage potential. The charity has been set up to preserve and maintain the town’s historic buildings while developing an improved arts and cultural offering for the local community. This reflects […]

Thetford Cricket Club calls on community to back Project 100

A smiling woman stands indoors in front of large illuminated “100” numbers, each outlined with small round bulbs. She is holding up a white envelope in her right hand, angled slightly towards the camera, as if presenting it. The handwritten text on the envelope is partially visible but not fully legible. She has short, light blonde hair styled upwards and is wearing a dark polo shirt with a small embroidered logo on the left chest. A microphone is clipped to her shirt, suggesting she may be speaking or presenting. A tattoo is visible on her right forearm. Behind her, the large “100” display sits on a table covered with a red cloth. The setting appears to be a wooden interior space, with timber walls and exposed beams. Above the numbers is a wall-mounted air conditioning unit, and to the left there is a door with a window. Decorative string lights and a small security camera are also visible along the beam. The overall scene suggests a celebratory or fundraising moment, with the “100” display acting as a focal point, marking a campaign target.

Exciting things are happening at Thetford Town Cricket Club as the Project 100 campaign gathers pace. The initiative aims to raise £100,000 to improve the club’s facilities and ensure the ground can be enjoyed by the whole community for years to come. The project has raised over £21,000 since its launch in February, but there […]
