The Thetford Open Gardens team are looking for volunteers to open their gardens, to raise money for St Nicholas’ Hospice Care.

It’s that time of year again – gardens are quietly coming back to life after their winter slumber and tempting us all to think about warmer months on the horizon.
The Thetford Open Gardens Team has been busy behind the scenes, following the success of the 2024 campaign, which raised an incredible £14,881.74 for St Nicholas Hospice Care. With the loss of funding from Norfolk and Waveney ICB, it’s more vital than ever to raise additional funds to keep services in Thetford.

Thetford Open Gardens 2025 is dedicated to our founder Liz Hodgson (pictured). It is with great sadness that we share the news that Liz died recently. Liz supported the event for 18 years, enjoying the gardens and catching up with old friends on her way round.
The team are currently looking for 25 to 30 gardens across the town. You don’t need a show garden, it’s about how you use your outside space and gardens of all sizes are admired by our visitors. The TOG Garden Ambassadors will guide you through the process and the event is insured so there’s no additional cost for welcoming visitors into your garden. To sign up, click here!
The ever-popular plant sale will be returning on Saturday 10th May at 28 Arlington Way, please bare us in mind if you’re having an early tidy up or clearing beds. Sue has plenty of pots if you need something to transplant your plants into.
Every year Sue also bakes over fifty cakes for TOG and to cover the cost the team are looking for sponsors again, along with raffle prizes for the Grand Draw. As with every element of Thetford Open Gardens fundraising, 100% of the proceeds go to St Nicholas Hospice Care. Finally, if you can help with our marketing and PR we’d love to hear from you!
