A team of young dancers from Thetford are heading to compete in Florida after securing a coveted place at the Allstar World Championships.

Thundercats Studio, based at the Charles Burrell Centre, provides cheerleading, acro, dance and gymnastics classes for more than 100 young people from across the town and surrounding area. The club celebrated a major milestone in May when its U14 dance team, Radiance, earned its first-ever bid to the World Championships.
Held annually in Orlando, the Allstar World Championships bring together thousands of athletes from across the globe. With only four bids available in their dance session, securing an invitation was a huge achievement for the team.
Radiance trains in contemporary and jazz, and for many of its members, Thundercats has been a second home since they were four or five years old. Their qualification follows years of training and an impressive competition season, which also saw the team perform strongly at the Supreme Dance Competition.
The dancers will now travel to Orlando in April 2027 to represent both their club and their town on the world stage.
To help fund the trip, Thundercats Studio is holding a showcase at the Charles Burrell Centre on 21st August at 5pm. The event will feature performances of this season’s routines, alongside a raffle, with all proceeds helping the team on their journey to Florida. Those unable to attend can also support Radiance through the team’s crowdfunder campaign by visiting https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/help-tcs-radiance-on-the-road-to-worlds-florida
