Biffa’s Thetford waste depot joined forces with Thetford Town Council on Saturday 26th September to host a successful community litter pick, bringing together residents and youth groups to clean up the area.

The event attracted an exceptional turnout from the local community, with volunteers including Watton Scouts, local schoolchildren and members of area litter-picking groups working alongside representatives from the council and Biffa.
Tom Weal, Biffa’s Driver Development Coach, and Sarah Walsh, Dispatcher, represented Biffa on the day, working alongside George Waterman of Thetford Town Council to coordinate the event and ensure the collected waste was safely managed.

Speaking about the initiative, Sarah said: “We thoroughly enjoy organising and taking part in these events. It gives us a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community where we live and work.
“It is also a brilliant platform for us to connect with residents and explain a bit more about what we do as a company, highlighting the vital role of modern waste management and recycling.”
Biffa and Thetford Town Council thanked all the volunteers who donated their time to help keep Thetford clean, tidy and green.
