Scouting is a worldwide youth social movement, operating in over 216 countries and territories, that emphasises practical outdoor activities, including camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, backpacking, sports and much more.

The scouts, dressed in teal uniforms with pink neckerchiefs and various badges, are standing and kneeling in rows, smiling at the camera. Several adult leaders, dressed in green hoodies and casual clothing, stand among the group. The wooden floor and neutral wall create a simple backdrop.

Norjam is a week-long camp between 9th and 16th August 2025 that brings together Scouts and Guides, aged 10-18, from around the world at the Norfolk Showground. Many nationalities have confirmed bookings. This is a perfect opportunity for young people to learn new skills and build long-lasting friendships whilst overcoming their fears. Norjam has one of the most diverse and unique line-ups in comparison to other youth organisations.

Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie, love a space to get creative or fancy giving something new a try – they have it covered with over 250 different activities and entertainment. With things like archery, clay pigeon shooting, rock climbing, canoeing, raft building, circus skills, discos, crafting and much more.

The official logo for NORJAM 2025, featuring colorful, abstract shapes resembling fireworks or confetti at the top. The text reads "NORJAM 2025" in bold white letters and "Carnival of Fun" in bright yellow below. A white fleur-de-lis symbol, representing the Scouts, is placed at the bottom. The background is a dark blue, hexagon-shaped badge.

3rd Thetford Scout Group has over 100 young people aged between 6 and 18 years, 23 of whom are attending Norjam. Most have not been away from their parents/carers for this period of time, which will prove a challenge. They have grown to trust the leaders, gain confidence in themselves and overcome many barriers in becoming the young adults that they are, and this event will only make them stronger.

For these young people to attend this potentially once in a lifetime opportunity, the scout pack need to have the funds to support them. They have several fundraising events and require your support and generosity. This includes a Craft Fayre at Thetford Academy on the 16th February from 10am to 3pm. The Scouts will be running a tombola, so if you have any unwanted, unused items that can be used as prizes, they will be much appreciated.
