The sun is shining (hopefully!), and the summer holidays are officially underway – which means the Summer Reading Challenge 2025 at Thetford Library has begun!

Illustrated promotional poster for the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge titled “Story Garden”. The image shows seven cartoon children engaged in activities like planting, watering, reading, and exploring. They’re set against a grassy garden with a stone character, wooden fence, and flowering plants. The Reading Agency logo appears top left, and illustrations are credited to Dapo Adeola at the bottom.

Children across Norfolk are already getting stuck into this year’s theme, Story Garden – Adventures in Nature and the Great Outdoors. Developed by The Reading Agency and delivered through public libraries, the Challenge invites children aged 4–11 to read six books over the summer, earning stickers and rewards along the way. There’s even a Mini Challenge for under 5s, so no one misses out!

Thetford Library have transformed their space into a hub of creativity, imagination and outdoor-inspired fun – and they’re inviting families to join in. As well as reading, children can take part in a brilliant range of bookable summer events that tie into the nature-filled Story Garden theme.

A small red LEGO brick sits to the left, suggesting the claw is about to pick it up.
