enABLE Thetford’s AccessibiliTEA sessions have returned for the autumn, providing a welcoming place for older and disabled residents, and those living with long-term health conditions, to meet each week.

The free sessions run from 12.30pm to 2.30pm on Fridays in the Harling Room at Thetford Methodist Church, continuing until 11th December. Drinks and light refreshments are provided, although donations are welcome.

High Sheriff of Norfolk Jo Pearson attended the relaunch.

“It’s wonderful to be back in the Methodist Church with the ladies from enABLE and all the guests,” he said. “It’s fantastic to see the hall used for this kind of event, and the community coming together.”

Organiser Janet Hutchinson explained that the group particularly welcomes people who might not otherwise go out.

“It’s a group hug,” she said. “People don’t have to explain if they’re having an off day – everyone understands.”

enABLE also held its Winter Wise event last month, where residents could speak directly with local organisations about staying safe, warm and well during the colder months.

enABLE’s next Spring Wellbeing Fayre will take place on Tuesday 16th March 2027.
