Collette Gray from Thetford Athletic Club celebrates Linda Cusack’s achievement of earning an England Athletics Masters vest and finishing on the podium at the Bideford 10k.
On Sunday 10th May 2026, Thetford Athletic Club proudly celebrated one of its own as Linda Cusack achieved an incredible milestone in her running journey.
Linda had the tremendous honour of not only representing the club, but also wearing the prestigious England Athletics Masters vest in the V70 age category – a remarkable achievement and a true testament to her dedication, determination and talent.
Linda competed in the highly competitive Bideford 10km race, lining up against some of the finest Masters athletes in the country, alongside teams representing Wales, Northern Ireland and the UK Armed Forces.
To earn the opportunity to compete in an England Masters vest is no small feat. It demands exceptional commitment, consistent performance and the ability to qualify among the very best in your age group. Over recent years, Linda has done exactly that. Through relentless training, unwavering focus and a string of impressive race performances, she has proved time and again what she is capable of.
At Bideford, Linda faced strong competition, but as everyone at Thetford Athletic Club knew she would, she rose to the challenge brilliantly. Running with determination and heart, her performance was outstanding, finishing 3rd in her age category and also securing 3rd place in the England Athletics age group standings – an achievement to be immensely proud of.
Linda’s success is inspiring proof that age is no barrier to achievement. With consistency, hard work, support and passion, incredible goals can still be reached and new heights can still be achieved.
Congratulations, Linda – you have done yourself, Thetford Athletic Club and England Athletics proud. Your achievement inspires every one of us and reminds us all that greatness has no age limit.
