Thetford’s much-loved Christmas Lights Switch-On, taking place on Friday 28th November from 4.30pm to 8pm, with the grand switch-on at 6.30pm in Thetford Market Place. This year’s event promises festive fun for all the family.
Santa will arrive on an exciting new mode of transport that’s sure to delight the crowds. The evening will once again feature fairground rides from L Gray and Sons Funfairs, alongside live entertainment, street performers, and a lively Christmas market filled with charity stalls, craft vendors, and food stands with winter favourites.
Local performers will also take to the stage, including the Thetford Players, who will share a sneak peek of their upcoming pantomime Hansel and Gretel. Fairytale characters will wander through the crowd, spreading Christmas cheer and posing for photos with families. Following feedback from last year’s event, the Council has made sound improvements to ensure the countdown and on-stage performances are clearer and more enjoyable for everyone.
