The Charles Burrell Centre (CBC) marked its 10th anniversary this summer with a community party that brought together residents, tenants and friends for an afternoon of celebrations.

CBC opened at the former Charles Burrell School in 2015
On Saturday 30th August, the main hall was filled with music and dance as Breckland Brass Band, Gospel Soul Collective Choir, Centre Stage Dance Studio, Diamond Fitness Gymnastics and singer Emma Fleming performed. Visitors enjoyed games, tombolas, a glass of Pimm’s at the bar, and a free afternoon tea for all attendees.
Since opening in 2015 on the former Charles Burrell School site, the centre has grown into a hub of activity in the south of town. It is now home to more than 50 organisations, from fitness studios, education providers, social enterprises, community groups, including the About Thetford office!

“Over the past decade, CBC has become more than just a building, it has become the heart of our community, a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together,” said Centre Manager Nicola Welham.
“This milestone is not just about the years we’ve counted, but about the lives touched, the staff and volunteers who give their time, the tenants who bring ideas, and the community who continue to believe in what this centre can achieve. We also look forward to the next ten years of growth, collaboration and community spirit.”
