Veterans Central is encouraging Norfolk veterans, serving personnel and their families to access its wellbeing services, practical support and monthly Swaffham Drop-in sessions.

With more than 40,000 veterans living in Norfolk – the highest proportion of any county in England – Veterans Central believes many former service personnel are still unaware of the support available to them.
The charity, based at West Raynham, was established in 2023 to provide military veterans, serving personnel and their families with opportunities for wellbeing, social engagement and practical support. Alongside direct help with specific issues, it offers what it calls the “4Cs” – Coffee, Cake, Conversation and Company – giving veterans somewhere to go, something to do and a chance to meet others with shared experiences.

Veterans Central is asking the public to help spread the word. Whether you are a veteran yourself, have veterans in your family or know someone in your neighbourhood who has served, the charity wants to ensure they are aware of the support on offer.
For those in the Thetford area, the monthly Veterans Central Swaffham Drop-in offers free hot drinks, cake, conversation and the opportunity to ask questions about veterans’ support. The sessions take place on the fourth Tuesday of each month, from 10am-12pm, in The Pedlars Suite at The George Hotel, Swaffham. Partners and carers are also welcome. Upcoming dates are 25th August, 22nd September, 27th October, 24th November and 22nd December.
Veterans Central is also open every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, from 10am-3pm, at West Raynham. For more information, email ops@veteranscentral.co.uk.
