This May, Thetford Library is highlighting the importance of mental health and dementia awareness by supporting Mental Health Awareness Week (12th – 18th May) and Dementia Action Week (19th – 25th May).

Whether you’re looking for guidance, personal stories or ways to support others, the library’s Reading Well collections offer a wealth of valuable resources.
The Reading Well for Mental Health collection provides reliable information and guidance on managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, grief and stress. Books are written by experts and people with lived experience, offering practical support and personal insight. Topics include mindfulness, difficult emotions and different mental health experiences. All books in the collection are free to borrow from Thetford Library, with many also available as e-books and audiobooks.
Dementia affects millions of people across the UK, including those living with the condition and their loved ones. The Reading Well for Dementia collection helps people navigate the challenges of living with dementia or supporting someone who does. The list includes practical guides and personal accounts, with books for carers, friends and children. The books are free to borrow and selected titles are also available in digital formats.
Visit Thetford Library to explore these collections, borrow books or find a quiet place to reflect. For details on joining or accessing digital books, visit www.library.norfolk.gov.uk or speak to a member of staff.
This May, take a step towards understanding, support, and well-being – Thetford Library is here for you.
