As the year draws to a close, Thetford Library is excited to host two very different but equally inspiring events — one delving into local history, and another opening up worlds of imagination through creative gaming.

Join local archaeologist Keith Robinson on Wednesday 12th November for an afternoon talk on the Iceni, the ancient tribe of East Anglia. From the Iron Age to the early Roman era, Keith will share the stories, artefacts, and legacies of one of the region’s most renowned peoples. This free event offers a fascinating chance to connect with Thetford’s heritage and explore the community’s historic roots. Booking is essential at www.library.norfolk.gov.uk/whats-on or call 01842 752048.
Creativity takes centre stage with the Wayward Adventurers Guild’s Fantasy Workshop in December. Running across three Tuesdays — 2nd, 9th and 16th December, from 5pm to 7pm — these free sessions invite anyone aged 18 and over to design their own fantasy world. Perfect for fans of tabletop roleplaying games such as Dungeons & Dragons, or anyone who’s ever dreamed of building worlds of their own.
Across the workshops, participants will learn to draw imaginative maps, design magical items and craft unique creatures, guided by an experienced team of storytellers and artists. Even if you can’t attend every session, the organisers will work around your availability to ensure you get the most from the course.
This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone interested in gaming, storytelling, or art — and a chance to meet like-minded people in a relaxed, creative setting.
