Karys from Rise Hypnotherapeutics dispells some myths about counselling, and shares how she can help you manage life’s challenges.
Being a human can be hard work at times! When we’re born, we don’t come with an instruction manual, yet we often expect ourselves to just know what to do in any situation, even when it’s something we’ve never faced before. It can appear that everyone else is doing fine and we’re the only ones struggling.

The truth, however, is life throws challenges at all of us, and it can be difficult to find our way through sometimes. Whether the challenges you are facing are at work, at home or within yourself, counselling can help.
Isn’t counselling just talking, though? How on earth can talking about a problem make a difference? It’s a fair question! Counselling does involve talking, but effective counselling helps you to learn and practise coping strategies and identify effective solutions to problems. After each session, you should leave feeling hopeful about your future, equipped with tools to support yourself.
Many people worry that counselling will be a long, painful, and expensive process. That is not the way I work. I am a Human Givens Counsellor – a type of integrative, solution-focused counselling that draws on the most effective, evidence-based techniques to support recovery and change. Using the most up-to-date methods, based on neuroscience, I work with you to help you develop the strategies and solutions to move your life forward again.
Perhaps you are facing challenges at work, difficulties with anxiety or depression or are finding that traumatic memories are holding you back. This is where Human Givens counselling could help you get your life back on track.
