Thetford Singers’ latest concert saw them return to their choral roots, with a serene thirty-minute rendition of Requiem, by Gabriel Fauré.

Conducted by the award-winning Chris Parsons, the Singers didn’t shy away from ambitious and beautiful harmonies, both within the Requiem and the selection of songs which preceded it.
The stunning chorus was accompanied by the St Cuthbert’s organ, played by Tom Nichol. Nichol didn’t miss a beat, including when the lights went out in the console! Every Singer had a part to play in the soundscape, headed at key moments by soloists Naomi Sturges and David Sadler (pictured below.)

Congratulations to Fiona Barnett, and the whole team who brought Fauré’s Requiem to the stage. Thetford Singers’ Summer Concert will be held at the Carnegie at 7:30pm on Thursday, 17th July.
Thetford Singers are always looking for new members, especially men! They meet every Wednesday evening at 7:30pm in Thetford Methodist Church during term times.
