Spotlight on… Baxter – Meet Becky Burris

Becky Burris, Operations Manager at Baxter Healthcare in Thetford, shares her inspiring career journey , and her passion for supporting others to grow within the company.

I’m Becky Burris, Operations Manager for one of our units in Thetford Compounding. I am the hiring manager that interviews the Production Technicians and I love sharing my passion for the amazing work we do here. Making life saving medication and nutrition brings great job satisfaction.

I have been fortunate in my career at Baxter working in an array of departments. I originally joined 20 years ago but left due to starting my family. I rejoined Baxter Compounding in 2018 as a Customer Services Administrator/Production Planner. I soon found myself hungry for more and progressed to Senior Production Planner.

With the support and guidance from my managers, it was not long before I found myself move into a leadership role which was Warehouse and Packing Team Leader. I was put forward for a Management and Leadership course by our Unit Manager and used these skills and tools to excel my career, progressing to Team Leader and then Production Supervisor. Early this year I was promoted to Operations Manager which I am extremely proud of. I would not be where I am today without the recognition and drive I have from the amazing team around me and my managers.

The Production Technicians that we hire have a huge impact and it’s a pleasure to work with each individual to support their own professional development and goals.

Earlier this year we replaced 1-hour interviews with assessment centres. This includes myself, Talent Acquisition, HR and our Training Supervisor. We run a friendly and informative session including 121 interviews, a tour and the chance to take part in activities included in the role.
