Michael Fordham, Principal of Thetford Academy, invites readers to submit their questions about schooling and education as he looks to make his monthly column more interactive and student-focused.

It has been over two years now that I have been writing this monthly piece for About Thetford and it has been a delight to write about so many topics related to our school and the education of children more generally. Some of the feedback I have had is that the column is well received in the community and I am keen to listen to my audience! I am aware, however, that I am effectively writing about “the thing I think you might want to know about.” In this modern age of two-way media communication, I think there is a case for opening this up to you, the readers.
With that in mind, I would like to invite you to submit questions to me. These could be questions about the curriculum, teaching, how schools are run, or our wider education system. It might be that I get some questions that require a full column to respond, and there might be some that I might be able to do some quick-fire answers on.
Another thing I would like to do is bring the voice of our students to this column a little more regularly. One of our academy committee (the governors) recently suggested I get some students to contribute to the column, and that is something else I am going to see if I can do.
But for now, thank you for taking the time to read this column, especially you regular readers, and do send questions you have about schools and the education system to:
