Thetford has spoken and nearly a thousand residents have played their part in helping to shape how a once-in-a-generation £20 million investment will be spent in the town.

Over the last two months, local people were invited to take part in a major community survey, …forTHETFORD, asking them to share their priorities for the future. The response was overwhelming, with almost a thousand residents taking the time to give their views on what matters most to them.

From new opportunities for young people and better community facilities, to greener spaces, a stronger town centre, and improved local services, the survey has provided a clear picture of the issues that people feel will make the biggest difference over the next decade.

Jo Pearson, Chair of the Thetford Neighbourhood Board, said he was delighted with the level of community involvement.

“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who completed the …forTHETFORD survey and had their say,” he said.

“This is your £20 million investment, and your feedback will make sure the money goes on your chosen priorities. The response shows just how much local people care about Thetford’s future, and the Neighbourhood Board will continue to work hard to deliver projects that reflect your preferences.”

The survey forms part of a wider engagement programme being led by Thetford Neighbourhood Board, a partnership of local representatives, community leaders and organisations working together to secure the town’s future.

Over the coming months, Thetford Neighbourhood Board will review all the feedback received, using it to shape a long-term investment plan. That plan will then be submitted to Government later this year, unlocking the £20 million and ensuring it is spent in ways that bring real, lasting benefits for residents, businesses, and communities.

This is just the start of an exciting journey …forTHETFORD, and thanks to the voices of local people, the future is already being shaped with the community at its heart.
