Last season was one to remember for Thetford Rugby Club. After securing the Eastern Counties Two North league title and promotion, the club rounded things off with a celebration in June, recognising both on-pitch triumphs and the dedication of those who work tirelessly behind the scenes.

Aaron Eagle scooped two awards, Players’ Player and Top Try Scorer, while Harry Walters was named Young Player of the Year and Jamie Peaceful took home Coaches’ Player of the Year.

The league winners’ plaque was formally presented to the club at the Eastern Counties dinner in Bury St Edmunds, with Head Coach Neal Thynne, Captain Curtis King, Vice-Captain Connor Sillet and Chairman David Tanner in attendance.

Off the field, Melissa Wood received the Chairman’s Shield for her extraordinary efforts coordinating fixtures and ensuring everything stayed on track, while Natalie Chisholm was awarded the President’s Cup for her work promoting the club and growing its profile in the community. Both awards, announced during National Volunteers’ Week, were a timely reminder of the vital role volunteers play at the club.
