Hundreds of visitors are expected in Wretham this Easter Sunday and Monday 21st April, as the former Rectory and village church open their doors for a special event.

The highlight of the weekend is the ten acres of gardens at Wretham Lodge, the former Rectory, which will be open to the public across both days. In spring, the gardens are usually in full bloom, featuring a woodland walk, herbaceous borders, topiary, shrubs, rose beds and a large walled garden, home to the Wretham rose.
Across the road at St. Ethelbert’s Church, visitors can enjoy tea and refreshments in the picturesque Victorian setting. Church members and local friends will be on hand to serve a selection of homemade treats, working in two-hour shifts. Volunteers are still needed to assist on either day or to provide baked goods and anyone interested can contact churchwarden Sharon Ford on 07708 9377358 or [email protected].
The gardens and church will be open from 11am to 5pm both days. Admission to the gardens is £7 for adults, with children free. Parking is available, and visitors can find Wretham Lodge by heading east on the A11 from Thetford, joining the A1075 to Wretham, turning left at the village sign, then right at the next crossroads, before bearing left. The postcode is IP24 1RL.
Proceeds from garden admissions will support National Garden Scheme charities which includes Hospice UK and Marie Curie, while refreshment sales will help to fund St Ethelbert’s Church. For information on the National Garden Scheme visit: www.ngs.org.uk/
