Children from Redcastle Family School enjoyed an unforgettable experience in London as they met professional golfers, took part in specialist golf activities and even received a one-to-one lesson from Ryder Cup legend Ian Poulter.
The incredible opportunity came through Redcastle’s two-year partnership with LIV Golf’s Little Sticks programme, which has helped bring golf to life for pupils through exciting sessions, staff CPD, specialist equipment and unique opportunities to meet stars of the sport.
On Tuesday 7th July, Redcastle’s Year 5 pupils, joined by golf-mad Year 6 pupil Malakai, travelled with Mr Burton and six Sports Leaders from Thetford Academy to the Little Sticks South Schools Festival in London.
The children threw themselves into a packed day of activities, testing their skills across putting, driving and chipping stations while learning more about the game in a fun and inspiring environment.
But for Malakai, the day became truly unforgettable.
He was selected for an incredible one-to-one lesson with golfing superstar Ian Poulter, receiving personal tips and guidance from one of the most recognisable names in world golf.
As if that wasn’t enough, Malakai was then gifted a brand-new set of golf clubs!
Pupils also had the chance to meet professional golfers, including Ian Poulter, Hannah Brown and Luke Poulter, while gaining a fascinating insight into the dedication, training and lifestyle of a professional athlete.
Redcastle pupils were also presented with personalised merchandise, giving them another special reminder of a day packed with unforgettable experiences.
The visit highlights the impact of Redcastle Family School’s ongoing partnership with LIV Golf Little Sticks, opening doors to new sports, raising aspirations and giving children opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.
From first swings to meeting golfing stars, it was a day Redcastle’s young golfers will never forget!
