Dove’s Nest Ministries, a Nazarene Compassionate Ministry project, has been supporting people in Thetford for the past four years.

Previously operating as Thetford Church of the Nazarene on the Ladies Estate, the charity now works to relieve furniture poverty by recycling household goods, alongside offering Christian worship in a more informal setting.
Since 2021, Dove’s Nest Ministries has been based at the Charles Burrell Centre and has now expanded with the opening of a new Re-Store on King Street. The shop offers low-cost, preloved furniture, with all proceeds reinvested into supporting vulnerable families across Breckland.
The charity continues to receive professional referrals and provides essential items free of charge to those in need. For those without a referral but facing financial difficulty, a self-referral can be completed in-store to access discounted items.
The new premises also allow Dove’s Nest Ministries to offer a welcoming community space, The Dove’s Nest Lounge. Open during shop hours, it provides a place to meet, relax and connect, with drinks and light refreshments available. Visitors are encouraged to spend time together, whether chatting, playing games or simply enjoying the space. Stock relies entirely on donations from the public, with items accepted by prior arrangement.
Alongside its practical support, Dove’s Nest Ministries continues to host an all-age worshipping community at weekends, with activities ranging from crafts and storytelling to walks and shared meals.
The Re-Store is open every Monday and Wednesday afternoon, once a month on a Friday evening, or by appointment.
