Exciting things are happening at Thetford Town Cricket Club as the Project 100 campaign gathers pace.
The initiative aims to raise £100,000 to improve the club’s facilities and ensure the ground can be enjoyed by the whole community for years to come. The project has raised over £21,000 since its launch in February, but there is still a long way to go to reach their goal and every contribution helps move the project closer to reality.
With the new season approaching, there are several ways for local residents, volunteers and businesses to get involved. A Volunteer Day will take place on Sunday 12th April from 11am to 5pm, helping prepare the ground for the season ahead. Whether it’s tidying, painting or small repairs, all help is welcome, and local businesses taking part will be recognised across the club’s social media. Also in April, local school groups will visit the club, giving young people their first introduction to cricket.
The club’s ‘Walk the Boundary’ sponsored walk is open for registration via the Crowdfunder page, offering another way to support the project. Looking ahead, a special community match between Breckland Council and the club will be held on 17th May, promising a great day.
£66,000 of the £100,000 target will be used to fund new training nets, with additional funds supporting accessibility improvements, including a level patio area and disabled parking.
