The project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, aims to gather and celebrate stories about recreation in the Brecks rivers and other waters. Professional storyteller Lynn Whitehead will train young people in storytelling techniques and give them the opportunity to present their stories at an event. If you have a group of young people that might be interested do get in touch with Imogen & Lynn.
It is part of The Brecks Fen Edge and Rivers Landscape Project and the free storytelling activities will take place during the first half of 2024. The project aims to run these workshops across a range of schools and groups across the Brecks.
Lynn Whitehead is a professional storyteller with experience of working with young people and in schools and with a passion for empowering them to translate heritage into performance. She will work with groups of young people to train them in techniques in preparing and telling stories, then rehearse with them and give them the opportunity to present their stories at an event arranged for that purpose at a suitable venue.
If your youth or other group would be interested in getting involved and would like to know more, please contact us:
